走進柳園

【 Down by the salley gardens 】此愛爾蘭音樂旋律非常的優美，是我極為喜愛的一首曲子，有些翻譯為莎莉花園，但 salley 來自愛爾蘭文 saileach ，是「柳樹」的意思，而且花園用眾數，指的不是某個特定的花園。歌詞是著名的愛爾蘭詩人葉慈( William Butler Yeats ) 1889年二十四歲時的詩作，根據愛爾蘭古老民謠重組改編而成。

其優美的旋律常被用在許多電影裡，無論古典或流行歌手都喜歡翻唱，版本很多，常聽到的是愛爾蘭女歌手 Orla Fallon 的演唱，Maura O'Connell  則是我喜歡的版本。

走進柳園，我和我的愛人相遇

She passed the salley gardens with little snow-white feet
她踏著雪白的纖足，穿越柳園

She bid me take love easy, as the leaves grow on the trees
她請我溫柔的對待這份愛，如同依偎在樹上的葉子

But I being young and foolish with her would not agree
但那時我是如此的年少無知，不曾細聽她的心聲

In a field by the river my love and I did stand
在河畔的曠野，我和我的愛人並肩佇立

And on my leaning shoulder she laid her snow-white hand
她雪白的手，依靠在我微傾的肩膀

She bid me take life easy as the grass grows on the weirs
她請我珍重生命，像生長在河堤的青草

But I was young and foolish and now am full of tears
但當時我是如此的年少無知，如今只能熱淚盈眶
